We stayed in the hideout house for our 10 year anniversary for 2 nights. Check in was very easy and the staff were really friendly. The house at first was a little awkward to find but then realised on the instructutions given to us by the staff was a postcode for the house. I put that in Google maps and we found the house in minutes.
When we walked in all the mood lighting was on and there was music playing. You straight away feel like you’ve walked into complete luxury. Everything was beautiful. We messed about with all the little buttons and controls and soon worked out how to use everything. The mini bar was a real treat. It was stocked with vodka, gin, tequlia and Bacardi. And there was plenty of mixers too. There was peanuts, mints and ice in the freezer which was great because we’d basically forgot half our shopping in a rush of excitement to get to the house. The complimentry toiletries smelled amazing too and we took advantage of everything.
The main part of bowness is literally a 2 minute walk from the house. We went for a meal at Baha the first night and I can honestly say the food was the best I’d ever had. Was defintley worth getting all dressed up and leaving the house for a few hours. On the second day of our stay we went out for a walk near the lake and visited The Lake View Garden Bar. Again the food and atmosphere was lovley and what an amazing view over the lake.
Overall we spent most of our time in the basement watching movies, listening to music, relaxing in the huge bath and drinking cocktails made from the mini bar. I can honestly say I couldn’t of wished for a better anniversary and am happy we spent it at the Cranleigh. We would love to return in the future. Defintley a 10 out of 10
Our Wedding Day – Stayed in the hideout house for two nights 16/17 August, for our secret wedding. What an amazing place couldn’t find fault anywhere was just what we wanted so romantic and what a stunning house, wouldn’t hesitate to return, every room was immaculate and maintained to a very high standard, if you want luxury, romance this house is perfect. Want to give a massive thank you to all the staff who made our wedding day and stay perfect,but an extra extra big thank you to Mickeala (manager) who went out of her way to make our day special for us, from helping with arranging hair, makeup, cars evening meal etc, and our day wouldn’t of happened without two witnesses which Mickeala and Chloe(member of staff)even went out of their way to do for us absolutely amazing We will definitely be returning for our first wedding anniversary if we can wait that long Thankyou cranleigh love Mr & Mrs Thorburn xxx
We have just returned home after staying at the Cranleigh Boutique Hotel in the very luxurious Hideout House for our wedding anniversary! It was worth every penny. The staff are friendly and helpful and the property itself is amazing and was perfect for unwinding and relaxing from the normal daily routine. Hopefully we will return soon!

This year we opted for the luxury room 6 and wow! Also amazing, loved the extras – chocolates, pillow mist, ear plugs! Everything you need. Stayed in many luxury hotels but Cranleigh will always be my number 1 when in Windermere. Thank you!
My fiancé and I stayed in “The Hideout” for a few nights and this place was incredible!
From the outside looked like any other type of house but on the inside was a crushed velvet, leopard print and leather! Let me start in the basement area… 65” cinema screen controlled by an iPad, fully stocked bar with 4 different spirits , wine, beers etc! Big comfy sofa and a massive jacuzzi bath and rain shower area!
You can adjust the lights to different moods and it’s a great place to relax!
Ground floor has a Bedroom and shower/toilet.
Really comfy bed but got very hot so definitely needed the fan!
Top floor was a cool kitchen, living room and balcony!
All the TVs and lights are controlled by an iPad , fun to use.
We almost didn’t want to leave the house as we had so much fun in our hideout!
We would definitely stay here again!
